OK
No, UCBD is not included, some UBCD is too old
and UBCD is mostly floppy images
I can still hook you though:)
2) You can run grml-magix persistent from usb
there are 2 ways
1-Make a partition on usb, formated ext2, labeled "live-rw"
2-Make a file named "live-rw" on a partition on usb, ext2
How to-
To make a persistent partition on usb
use cfdisk to make 2 partitions on usb
sdb1 fat32 holding thorshammer, etc
sdb2 ext2 labeled "live-rw"
to label and format the usb as live-rw
mkfs.ext2 -L live-rw /dev/sdb2
NEVER format or try to partition usb while mounted!
To make a persistent file on partition of usb
use cfdisk to make 2 partitions on usb
sdb1 fat32 holding thorshammer, etc
sdb2 ext2
Now, open a root terminal in grml-magix
use rox-filer as root to navigate to your usb
use the up arrow till it wont go up anymore
then go into folder mnt
and into usb folder, sdXX
go into the 2nd parttition
sdb2?
now, CD into the usb
assuming sdb2 is usb that is ext2
cd /mnt/sdb2
then create a live-rw file of whatever size
dd if=/dev/null of=live-rw bs=2000M seek=1
that will make a 2GB persistent store
then you gotta format it
mkfs.ext2 -F live-rw
Now, edit your syslinux.cfg in /boot/syslinux
and add "persistent" in the append line
it will now run just like a real hd-installed system
Also, you can edit the initrd.gz and make a specially named persistent store
like "jangeador-rw"
you wanna edit the initrd.gz?
3) Yes, you can add almost any distro
what distros besides PING?
ThorsHammer includes PartedMagic
