I've got the basic Guest user with password. Pull up System/Users & Groups and get a warning this might not work with my system. Proceed anyway and can't add a user or make any changes.
Any suggestions?

I just noticed that too... it's a Ubuntu issue Just pick Debian Many times a user will not have permissions to add/remove users its a security feature like windows admin Just logout of guest desktop login as root, password toor then add user remember to read up on visudo and /etc/sudoers help.ubuntu.com/community/SudoersUse the examples I left for the "guest" account in /etc/sudoers just replace guest with your new user name be careful editing /etc/sudoers its always kinda unstable if you leave a space or something at end of a line it freaks out. the directory /etc/skel is what populates a new users /home folder

Thanks, I think that has worked for me. I guess there's no way to customize the Avitar in the menu (this will be my 11-year old daughter's computer when it's working).
