Now my system is up and running, it doesn't seem to identify my network automatically. How do I connect to it manually? I ran a command I found "sudo iwconfig" and got a reply "no wireless extension" for 3 items: "lo", "eth0", and "irda0". Makes sense, I'm not using a wireless connection.
Ran another command "sudo lspci" and got a laundry list of information: Host bridge, PCI bridge, ISA bridge, Bridge, IDE interface, USB controller, Bridge, Communication controller, IRDA controller, Cardbus bridge, Cardbus bridge, Multimedia audio controller, Ethernet controller, VGA compatible controller:
Each item above is preceded by a number (form 00:00.0) and followed by the manufacturer's info.
Any suggestions?

The guide provided suggests using a program called Network Manager. That program doesn't show up in my FB Panel.

I used the network tools and, this time, selected a different option to configure "Unknown Interface (irda0)" instead of "Ethernet Interface (eth0)" as before.
Then I Pinged it and it started showing data instead of nothing. Now it's working fine.
Thanks for the help.
