I've been trying to find a good reference for getting my wireless working and can't seem to find anything. I've got the .inf file for my adapter (Belkin) and have gone through the steps in my manual for setting it up with Ndiswrapper, including blacklisting a potential existing file. I get some promising feedback but it never seems to connect. Is there a good diagnostic that could point me to the problem? sudo ndiswrapper -l says the driver is there, device is there plus an "alternate" driver. sudo iwconfig gives "lo - no wireless connection" irda0 - no wireless extensions wlan1 - IEEE 802.11g ESSID: off/any Mode: Managed Frequency: 2.412 Ghz Access Point: Not-Associated" Any suggestions?

Does your device show up at all? Paste the results of the two following commands: 1. ifconfig 2. sudo lshw -C network
The second command should list all network devices on your system, if you still fails to see your device or you are using another (non-ubuntu/debian based) distro, simply type: lshw alone, it will list all your hardware profile.
now look at the output in the terminal window and search for the device you need activated / working. Better yet, just copy the entire thing to here and I will try to see what I can do.
